Choose the option that matches the shape of the tiles or slate at the planned installation point.
High Profile Tile
Select this for pantiles, S-shaped tiles, or other raised and wavy clay or concrete tiles with noticeable ridges and troughs.
Flat Tile or Slate
Select this for flat interlocking tiles, plain tiles, or natural slate that creates a relatively even roof surface.

ClimaSense™ adds automatic control and nighttime operation to a compatible Solatube solar attic or garage fan. It uses solar power during the day and household power for ventilation into the evening.
Choose continuous operation or let temperature and humidity settings guide when the fan runs.

Before ordering: Confirm compatibility with your existing fan and access to a constantly powered outlet. This is a controller upgrade; the fan and solar panel are sold separately. Do not install it together with a Thermal Switch.

A solar fan's work does not have to end when sunlight fades. ClimaSense™ adds a household-powered evening operating period and a choice of control settings.
Evening ventilation
Continue exhausting accumulated attic heat after sunset, when a solar-only fan would otherwise stop.
Respond to conditions
Use temperature and humidity control to match fan operation to conditions in the attic or garage.
Upgrade a compatible fan
Add control capability to a suitable existing Solatube solar fan rather than purchasing a complete new ventilation system.
Ventilation performance still depends on fan capacity, intake and exhaust openings, installation, and local conditions. ClimaSense™ does not replace correctly sized ventilation or provide air conditioning.

Continuous ventilation or control by conditions
Mode 1
Continuous operation
Runs during the day and provides a four-hour nighttime operating period.
Mode 2
Temperature and humidity response
Responds to the selected temperature and humidity settings. Humidity sensing can be switched off for temperature-only control.
Follow the controller guide when selecting settings. Nighttime operation uses household electricity; this upgrade is not a solar battery-storage system or an all-night power supply.
Match your fan first
For compatible Solatube solar attic and garage fans
ClimaSense™ is offered with RM1500, RM2400, and IM1500 systems. For a retrofit, confirm your fan's model, age, motor connections, and upgrade suitability with a Solatube specialist.
- Compatible Solatube solar fan and panel already installed or purchased separately
- Constantly powered outlet in the attic or garage
- Suitable controller mounting location and cable access
- Thermal Switch removed from the control setup
Choose one control: ClimaSense™ and the Solar Star Thermal Switch are alternative options and must not be used together.

Mount, connect, and choose your settings
The installation guide covers controller mounting, connections to the fan and solar panel, household power, and operating settings.
- Confirm fan compatibility before modifying connections
- Mount the controller securely inside the attic or garage
- Connect and secure wiring exactly as instructed
- Connect the supplied power adapter to a constantly powered outlet
- Select the operating mode and desired settings
Use a qualified installer for the retrofit. Have any required new outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
