Solar-Powered Fresh Breeze Skylight · 2 ft. × 4 ft.

A wider view. Daylight and a fresh breeze.

Brighten kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces with natural light, then open your skylight from the included remote when you want outdoor air.

The Solatube HSE Fresh Breeze Skylight uses solar power to charge its battery and operate the opening mechanism. Insulated dual-pane glass and integrated thermal barriers help maintain indoor comfort when closed.

  • Solar-powered operation
  • Remote control included
  • Automatic rain sensor

Plan your fit: 2 ft. × 4 ft. is the nominal product size. Confirm actual curb dimensions, roof slope, and installation requirements before ordering. Choose Clear or SoftLight™ Glass in the options above.

Solatube Fresh Breeze skylights open on a roof

Light and ventilation together

A brighter room. A breath of fresh air.

Enjoy daylight throughout the day and open the skylight when outdoor conditions suit your home.

Natural daylight

Bring light from above into your living spaces and reduce the need for electric lighting during the day.

Fresh-air ventilation

Open the skylight to provide a path for warm, stale indoor air to escape when replacement air is available.

Solar-powered control

The integrated solar panel charges the battery for remote-controlled operation without household electrical wiring.

Automatic rain response

A built-in rain sensor initiates closing when rain is detected.

Insulated safety glass

Argon-filled dual-pane glazing combines tempered outer glass with laminated inner glass. Integrated thermal barriers help limit heat transfer.

UV protection

Low-E glass blocks 99% of harmful UV light, helping protect furnishings and interior finishes.

Powered by sunlight

Open, close, and enjoy from below

  1. Capture solar energy. The panel charges the skylight's battery.
  2. Choose your opening. Use the remote to operate the motor and let fresh air through the screened opening.
  3. Respond to rain. The sensor signals the skylight to close when rain is detected.

The solar system operates the skylight mechanism; it does not power a ventilation fan. Airflow depends on weather, the opening, and other air paths through the home.

Choose how daylight enters

A clear sky view or a softer glow

Select your preferred glass type using the product options above.

Clear Glass examples for fixed and operable HSE skylights

Clear Glass

Enjoy natural daylight with a view through the glass to the sky. A good choice when the outdoor view is part of the room's appeal.

SoftLight Glass examples for fixed and operable HSE skylights

SoftLight™ Glass

Diffuse incoming daylight to reduce glare and spread light more evenly. A good choice when a soft, luminous ceiling opening matters more than a clear sky view.

Glass examples show both HSE skylight styles. This listing is for the solar-powered operable model.

Optional daylight control

Adjust the light as your day changes

A Performance Skylight Shade adds another way to manage daylight. Its pleated polyester fabric sits in a powder-coated aluminum frame for a coordinated interior finish.

  • Adjust by hand when within reach
  • Optional telescoping pole extends up to 16 feet
  • Standard and custom shade sizes available

Shade and extension pole are optional purchases. Confirm shade sizing and clearance for your skylight and interior shaft before ordering.

Measure before ordering

Match the skylight to your roof curb

For a replacement, measure the existing curb. For a new opening, coordinate framing, curb, flashing, and interior finishes with your installer.

Identify the size

This listing is the nominal 2 ft. × 4 ft. Fresh Breeze operable skylight. Nominal size is not a roof-opening measurement.

Measure the curb

Record both outside curb dimensions and the interior opening. Confirm the unit and operable-base fit before ordering.

Check the installation

Verify roof slope, curb condition, waterproofing, solar exposure, and opening clearance against the installation guide.

Plan the complete installation

Your operable skylight system

Skylight components

  • HSE skylight top with your selected glass
  • Operable base and opening mechanism
  • Skylight screen
  • Solar panel assembly with rain sensor
  • Remote control
  • Assembly hardware listed in the installation guide

Additional installation materials

The guide lists curb-fixing screws and snap spacers as ordered separately, and insulating weather seal as not provided.

Confirm roof curb, flashing, waterproofing, interior finishes, and any optional shade separately for your project.

Plan the installation

Prepare the curb. Check the operation.

Inspect the roof curb and waterproofing, assemble and connect the operable components as directed, and check the motor operation before securing the skylight.

  • Verify curb dimensions and condition
  • Provide the specified seal, fasteners, and spacers
  • Confirm solar-panel exposure and opening clearance
  • Follow the guide for motor connections, remote pairing, and rain-sensor checks
  • Coordinate the interior shaft and ceiling finishes

Roof compatibility: The guide specifies a roof slope of at least 3:12 (15°) for drainage and states that this product is not rated for High Velocity Hurricane Zones. Have your installer confirm suitability for your roof.

    High quality and Durable.

I used Solatube for my new tempered glass skylight and I am very pleased with the service and the results! I had an old acrylic skylight that was very dried out and was having condensation bead up on the metal rim every morning (due to inadequate sealing) and dripping water on to my floor, so I upgraded to the tempered glass from Solatube.
